BUILDING WORKERS FOR TOMORROW
About Building Futures
Building Futures was founded to provide high school graduates with an alternative to traditional college pathways. Our Building Futures program connects youth with opportunities in the skilled trades, offering a structured approach to career development. Through hands-on experience and classroom instruction, our apprenticeships prepare students for long-term employment in various industries such as electrical, construction, carpentry, masonry, welding, plumbing, HVAC, steelwork, and transportation.
OUR HISTORY
The Savannah Building Futures Program began as the brainchild of Jerome B. Irwin, Sr. in 2018. Mr. Irwin has tirelessly brought this initiative to communities throughout the Coastal Empire, connecting young people with local labor unions and apprenticeship programs. His dedication to providing financially stable futures for students led to the incorporation of the Savannah Building Futures Program in March 2024. With the support of concerned educators, dedicated volunteers, committed labor union representatives, and the business community, we strive to empower Savannah’s youth and position them to build successful futures.
